It happened in Topólcza on October 25,1858, at 1 p.m. Jan Panuciak appeared, age 34, a soldier in the 37th Marine Equipment Transport Unit on leave of absence in Turzyniec, in the presence of Demeter Chorzępa, age 40, and Michał Panuciak, age 37, both farmers residing in Turzyniec, and showed us a child of female sex stating that it was born here in Turzyniec that same day, month and year, at 5 a.m. to Tekla Kwiatkowska, a peasant farmers widow, age 27, which the above-mentioned Jan Panuciak admitted as his own child he had begotten and declared himself to be the father. At Holy Baptism and Confirmation performed today by Father Józef Lisowski, the child was given the name Katarzyna, and the godparents were the above mentioned Demeter Chorzępa and Agata Panuciak. This document was read aloud to the declarant and witnesses and signed only by us because those appearing do not know how to write. #9. It happened in Topólcza on 7 April 1860 at 5 in the afternoon. Appeared Jan Panuciak, a soldier on leave from 37 [экипаж] company, 38 years old who now resides in Turzyniec in the presence of Jan Fitał, 22 years old and Demetry Chorzępa, 40 years old, both farmers residing in Turzyniec and showed us female child announcing that she was born in Turzyniec on 3 April 1860 at 3 in the afternoon from his wife Tekla nee Chorzępa, 29 years old. This child was given the name Maryanna [Marianna] during a religious christening and confirmation ceremony conducted today by Fatehr Józef Lsowski and her godparents were Jan Fitał and Maryanna Typiakowa [wife of Typiak]. happened in the village Topólcza November 8, 1885, 5:00 pm. was
personally Wojciech Panuciak, 22 years old, a peasant living in the
village of Topólcza and in the presence of Nikolai Artomiak, 27
years old, Casper Kowalczyk, 49 years old, peasants living
in the village of Topólcza and showed us a male child, declaring
that he was born in the village of Topólcza 6 days of the current
year of the current month at 9:00 pm from his legitimate wife
Katarzyna , née Ferenc, 26 years old. The baby is given this name at
the Holy Baptism and Chrismation of the evangelist John Grigorewski,
today, given the name of Michal. And his godparents were Nikolai
Artemiak, Katerina Kowalczik, Kasper Kowalczik and Agata Lipec. This
declaration is declared and present and read by their illiteracy we
are only signed.
My grandmother's brother Michał suffered many losses during his 52 years on this earth. His daughter Janina died in Sep 1913 at the age of 19 months. His father Wojciech died in 1915, 2 weeks later Michal buried his young wife Zofia Cielica and their infant son, Jan. He remarried he following year to Anna Golec. He and Anna would bury their first two children shortly thereafter. In 1941 Anna's father- and young sister were murdered by the gendarmerie in the neighboring village of Wywlockza.

The event took place in Szczebrzeszyn on October 31/November 13, 1911, at 11 a.m. It is announced that in presence of witnesses Martin Mazur, 42 years old, and Nikolai Liuch, 54 years old, both are land farmers living in Topólcza, a religious marriage contracted on this day between Michal Panuciak, a land farmer, single, a son of the living Wojciech and Katerina nee Ferenz, the Panuciak couple, the land farmers from Topólcza, born and living in Topólcza, 25 years old, and Zofija Cielica, single, daughter of the living Mikolaj and his deceased wife Katerina nee Mazur, the Cielica couple, land farmers from Turzyniec village, born and living in Turzyniec village, 24 years old.
This act was read to all presents who are illiterate and signed only by us (priest).

My grandmother 's family considered her to be a bit of a rebel. When she was a teenager n in the tiny village of Topolcza, in South East Poland, she found a crumpled Camel cigarette wrapper, somewhere in the meadows. She immediately looked up to the heavens and prayed that someday she would be blessed to see such a site. The following year , Gram set sail with a few friends and a distant cousin, to Ellis Island. She would soon meet her future husband-Boleslaw 'Tylicki. The following year, she give birth to a son, who died minutes after being born. Boleslaw immediately baptised their infant son, 'Stanislaw'. The doctors told her that she should not risk another pregnancy, but thankfully, she did not listen. 2 years later, a healthy blonde haired, blue eyed baby was born. They named her Leokadia, somehow, she became officially known as Charlotte. Years passed, Gram worked as a cook to an extremely wealthy family in New Jersey. In 1934, the family was in need of a children' nanny. They asked "Jeannie" to accompany them, in that capacity, on a Mediterranean cruise that included Cairo!!! There, in all it's glory, more than 20 years after finding that old cigarette wrapper, Gram's wish came true!

I believe Maria is the only sister of my grandmother who survived to adulthood. My mother told me as a child that Gram's sister had witnessed her husband being shot in the meadow behind their farmhouse. I know nothing more and hoped to discover who she married and tragically lost in WWII.

The permission for entering into this marriage was given orally by the parents of the bride. The newlyweds declared that they have made no prenuptial agreement.
